Richard Battilana
My goal is to develop my powers of perception while, at the same time, representing my subject with a personal eye.
My interest in photography started at about 11 years old when the YMCA counselors had us developing photos in a dark room.
I continued taking pictures and got more interested it photography during my years in the US Army traveling around the country and especially being assigned overseas.
The change from being a casual picture taker to a more interested amateur photographer occurred when I had a family and recorded each step of my children’s life.
Further photographic interest increased when I became the unofficial photographer of my church and developed further when I joined a camera club.
Later joining the LICP has continues to open new perspectives on the art of photography, not just recording a scene or subject.
